St. Francis Xavier Golf Team Takes First Place in Big Shots Golf Championship!

Congratulations to two of our St. Francis Xavier student athletes, Sarah Choate and Cal Martin, for taking first place in the Big Shots Golf Championship! We are so proud of them! Cal shot a 38 and Sarah shot a 41, (multiplied times 2), for a team total of 158. If you see them around, please be sure to congratulate them.

Athletic Registration for 2011-2012

Attention all St. Francis families:

Athletic Registration for the 2011-2012 school year is underway! Registration forms, Physician Permission Forms, and information about our upcoming "Backyard BBQ", for our Wilmette Catholic Football Program, were sent out in the mail yesterday.

If you have a child entering grades 5-8 in the fall, please take special note of these forms. All forms are due back by Thursday, June 2, 2011 to the school office. Students must have a Physician Permission Form on file before they can participate in any school sports programs.

Congratulations to our Track Participants!

All of our student track athletes did a wonderful job this past weekend at the Track Meet, which was held at Loyola Academy! A special congrats to Nick Kropp for breaking another school record in his running time!

7th Grade Boys Basketball Open Gym!

ATTENTION ALL 7TH GRADE BOYS AND PARENTS:

Coach Pat Gaynor is hosting basketball open gym time. This is a great opportunity for all 7th grade boys to get some spring time practice in for basketball. Coach Gaynor will be working on developing basketball skills, good work habits, and having fun! There is NO FEE for this activity!

Please download the attached flyer for more information on the open gym sessions. The first session will take place on Tuesday, May 3 from 3:00-4:30pm on the Sport Court. The remainder of the sessions will take place in the school gym.

NEW THIS SUMMER:

Girls Basketball Camp at SFX run by Ms John and Ms Laird! This summer, girls entering grades five through eight are invited to attend any of three sessions. Please see attached information sheet and registration form.

First Practice Monday 4/11 at New Trier East track. 5:00-6:00. SFX Track is open to all 5th-8th graders. Low pressure! Lots of fun and exercise! Please see the attached intro letter from Coach Tyska.

Big Shots Golf Program Parent Meeting!

Parents,

There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, April 4th at 6pm in the Xavier Room North for all parents who have children enrolled in golf for this spring. Heather Penn, the director of the program, will be leading this meeting. It is very important that at least one parent of each child attends this meeting. She will be discussing all of the details of the program.

Brian Avery 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament!

Hi Crusaders!

It's time to sign-up for the Brian Avery 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament! The tournament is held in memorial of Brian Avery, a past student of St. Francis Xavier, who was killed in Costa Rica during a family vacation. The tournament is held at Loyola Academy. All fifth through eighth grade boys and girls are eligible to participate. This will be the fifth year of the tournament and each year over 60 teams have participated! It's a really fun day and all proceeds benefit Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, a Catholic middle and high school in Cartago, Costa Rica. We hope to see you there!
