As we all know, the holiday season brings plenty of activities...and for those of us who need Service Hours, it brings plenty of opportunities for volunteering!
A few parents have asked for volunteer ideas for their Confirmation Candidates. Here are some upcoming events run through Catholic Charities and Big Shoulders:
Catholic Charities - Toy Parade -
Help out either for the 1-4pm shift (up to 15 people) on 12/3 or anytime from 10am-3pm (up to 20 people) on 12/4 at the IBEW Hall, 600 W. Washington. Parking is available and lunch will be provided both days.
This article from Christmas 2010 gives a description of the Toy Parade. Students and a parent can volunteer to help sort the toys at IBEW hall, 600 W. Washington and get them ready to be given out to the children who will receive them as Christmas presents. Contact Michael McDonald at mmcdonne@catholiccharities.net by November 28th to help out!
The Big Shoulders Give Back Day announcement came with a more detailed explanation. If Confirmation Candidates wish to volunteer, they should come with a parent.
