Rummage

Rummage needs your shopping and plastic bags! If you have extra paper or plastic bags around the house, please send them into school tomorrow morning with your children. There will be a box inside the front doors of the school entrance at morning drop off. Please let your students know that bags can be left there as they file into school in the morning between 8-8:30am. Thank you for your help!

Spring Rummage

The Rummage Committee will continue to accept donations today, Tuesday March 6th, from 9am through 1pm. Gently used items may be brought through the back door of the gym, in the alley by the sport court. Thank you to all who have volunteered on the furniture trucks, have dropped off items, or have donated time sorting and setting up for this huge event. We truly appreciate your help! Much more work remains, so if you are able please stop in and lend a hand this week. The Rummage Sale takes place this Saturday, March 10th.

Rummage Update

Don't forget! Drop off dates for rummage donations are this Saturday and Sunday froom 12-4pm.  We are also in need of shopping bags to use on sale days, so bring in any bags you may have around the house as well.

7th grade - Tuesday, March 6 evening, Saturday, March 10 clean up (confirmation service hours opportunities at parcel check & clean up)

6th grade - Saturday, March 3 and Monday, March 5 evening 

5th & 4th grades - Monday, March 5 morning & Saturday, March 10 Sale shifts

THANK YOU to our tireless and wonderful Rummage Chairs, Patti Nesbitt and Kim Valente, for overseeing another successful Fall Rummage. Our school is so grateful for your time and talents! Thank you as well to the many, many people who turned out to staff our sales, sell snacks, bring meals, sort items, collect furniture and set-up and break down. We are in awe of your contributions! Thanks to you we have raised much needed funds for our school while helping others in need. 

Rummage Needs Your Help!

Rummage “week” begins this Saturday, October 15^th. It’s a great community event that benefits many. Come join the effort!   

• Calling all able-bodied men! We really could use your help with furniture truck pick-ups, Saturday and Sunday, October 15^th & 16th, contact: Kim Valente at kimvalente@me.com or 847-999-8724.  Shifts are: 10am - 12pm (Sat. only) and 12pm - 2pm and 2pm-4pm (both days).               
• Gentlemen with a keen eye and take no bologna attitude, security duty is calling. Contact Patti Nesbitt at patti@schumannco.com or 312-925-1530.  Security is needed for the following:  Tuesday, October 18th - Parish Presale - 6:50pm - 9:00pm; Thursday, October 20th - Sale...there are 2 shifts, 8:50am - 11:00am and 10:50am - 1:00pm.                                                                  
•  Have furniture that needs to find a new home? Schedule a pick up on Saturday or Sunday, October 15^th or Sunday October 16th, contact Jean Scott at jrudolph2@gmail.com or 312-531-1778.                                                                                                                                             
• Interested in having your class win a pizza lunch? And helping with a great cause in the process! Contact your room parents to volunteer for rummage. The class that generates the most volunteers will win a free pizza lunch! FREE BABYSITTING IS AVAILABLE Monday and Tuesday, October 17^th & 18^th from 12:30 - 2:30pm.

We would like to THANK all the people who helped make the Spring Rummage such a HUGE success!!! We could not have done it without YOU!!  It was a long week, but we pulled through and made just under $23,000 for the school!!!  We appreciate all the time you gave, away from your families, to make our job easier!!!  We are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community!!!

Plea for rummage help for Saturday!!!

Thanks to all for making this year's Rummage PreSale an ENORMOUS SUCCESS!  I know that many of you have given up your time to help set up, but there is still work to be done as we near the end. Sale day requires an Army of St. Francis volunteers!!!  We have all seen and heard that Rummage just comes together, but why not be BETTER prepared.  As you can see below, we need a lot of people. Please consider splitting a shift with a friend if you cannot do a whole shift.  IT WILL BE FUN IF WE ARE ALL INVOLVED!  Please consider signing up in the following areas:

• Linens: 8am - 11am (2 people needed); 11am - clean up (2 people needed).
• Books: 8am - 11am (2 people needed);  11am - clean up (2 people needed).
• Sporting Goods:  8am - 11am (2 people needed); 11am - clean up (2 people needed).
• Housewares: 8am - 11am (2 people needed); 11am - clean up (2 people needed).
• Mens Clothing: 8am - 11am (2 people needed); 11am - clean up (2 people needed).

Rummage has begun....

The gym is filling up with many treasures, as rummage drop-off started on Saturday.  Thank you to all who donated their time and items over the weekend! 

We still need all the help we can get, so if you have any time to spare this week, it would be greatly appreciated.  Come when you can and please remember we have FREE babysitting on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11th, 12th and 13th, from 12:30pm - 2:30pm.  Please contact Heather (hburgess20@me.com) or Courtney (mulvy2@aol.com) to save a spot.

We are also in great need of volunteers for security on sale day, Saturday, April 16th.  There are two shifts: 7:50am - 11:00am, or 10:50am - 1:00pm, or if you can spare any time at all, we need it!

Monday is the last day of drop-offs.; 8:30am - 2:00pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
